The Salvadoran specialists arrived in the Republic of Nicaragua in order to strengthen cooperation at the level of the Central American Region, in particular, with the National Health Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Nicaragua.
During the visit to MECHNIKOV , the historical panorama of the plant was observed: from the project to the GMP certification in 2019 and the production of the first commercial batches. During the visit, the Salvadoran delegation also visited the Production Area, Microbiology and Physico-Chemical Laboratories, Quality Assurance Area and Warehouses.
Also an overview of the products manufactured by the plant was given, ass well the issues of expanding the product portfolio, health registration status of MECHNIKOV vaccines in El Salvador were discussed. It should be noted that the INACTIVATED SPLIT INFLUENZA VACCINE is already registered in the Republic, the registration of the FLU-M®
influenza vaccine is in the process.Likewise, responding to El Salvador's fundamental demand for tetravalent influenza vaccines, the representatives of the MECHNIKOV Institute have informed the DNM that the dossier to present the Flu-M® Tetra vaccine in both single doses and multidoses is already being completed.
On the part of the DNM, the development of a strategic plan to be fulfilled by 2024 was announced, the objective of which is to advance and strengthen itself as a Regulatory Authority and thus correspond to the current requirements of the WHO.
